Like it or not, a first impression can be hard to change.  How many times have you looked at someone and immediately thought “I don’t like him/her” or “Slob”, “Trashy” or some other adjective.  The same happens when you first hear a person speak or read an email from them.  A person’s communication skills will often determine what others perceive our intelligence level to be.
